Celebrating Five Years of Kilkenny Volunteer Centre and the Launch of our New Strategic Plan

Kilkenny Volunteer Centre was delighted to celebrate a very special milestone last week as we welcomed volunteers, community organisations, partners and supporters from across the county to Hotel Kilkenny to mark five years of supporting volunteering in Kilkenny.

Held as part of National Volunteering Week, the celebration marked our 5th Birthday as a servcie and we officially launched our new Strategic Plan, setting out our vision and priorities for the next five years.

We were honoured to hear from Kilkenny hurling legend Brian Cody, who spoke about leadership, teamwork and the importance of giving back through volunteering and community involvement.

A special video message from Minister of State for Community Development and Charities Jerry Buttimer TD recognised both the important role Volunteer Centres play in local communities and the significance of the launch of our new Strategic Plan.

The evening also gave us the opportunity to celebrate the partnerships, achievements and positive impact created over the past five years, while recognising the volunteers, organisations and community groups who continue to make such a meaningful difference throughout the county.

The celebration concluded with Mayor of Kilkenny Councillor John Coonan and Leas-Cathaoirleach Councillor Fidelis Doherty officially cutting our birthday cake.

As we look to the future, the launch of our Strategic Plan marks an exciting new chapter for Kilkenny Volunteer Centre and reinforces our commitment to building stronger, more connected and compassionate communities through volunteering.
