National Volunteering Week 2022

National Volunteering Week was a resounding success in Kilkenny with a week- long celebration of volunteering and community organisations taking place 16-22nd May.

Kilkenny Volunteer Centre hosted a range of event running throughout the week.

The week kicked off on Monday 16th May with a free online workshop demonstrating the small steps that everyone can take in their homes, workplaces and communities that will have a positive impact on climate change.

Our Volunteer Managers Coffee morning has hosted in Kilkenny Volunteer Centre on Tuesday 17th May and a micro volunteering session for our local Failte Isteach group was held on Wednesday 18th May.

Thursday 19th saw staff take to the streets at the Kilkenny Farmers Market on the Parade and promote the wonderful benefits of volunteering to all passersby!

Friday 20th saw the launch of our Art of Volunteering initiative in collaboration with our local ETB.  This inclusive community art project welcomed 18 volunteers from many walks of life who came together to explore volunteering through Art and create a unique installation for the Volunteer Centre feature wall.

On Saturday 21st, the Volunteer Centre was thrown open to the public and staff welcomed drop in visitors to come and find out more.

We had great levels of engagement right throughout the week and were thrilled to be able to celebration NVW 2022 “in person”!  Looking forward to 2023 already 🙂
