Covid 19 has been a stressful and lonely period for everyone but most especially our older people.
Vulnerable residents of nursing homes across Co Kilkenny have faced into long periods of uncertainty and were unable to meet with their family and receive visits.
In response, Kilkenny Volunteer Centre initiated our Letters of Hope Campaign.
Volunteers and their families all around the county got involved and countless uplifting letters along with handmade cards and drawings were posted to residents of local nursing homes to help lift their spirits and give them a sense of connection with the community around them.
A big thanks to all the amazing volunteers that participated, your simple acts of kindness made a big difference in a dark time.
