We are pleased to announce the publication of the Kilkenny Volunteer Centre’s Annual Report for 2024 — a comprehensive reflection on a transformative year for volunteering in Kilkenny.
Despite a year marked by transition and reduced staffing, the Centre continued to deliver high-impact services, placing over 500 volunteers, launching innovative inclusive projects, and strengthening community integration across the county. Initiatives like Bees for Biodiversity, Leanabh Gowns for St. Luke’s Hospital, and the Closh Mural Project highlight the power of volunteering to foster resilience, connection, and creativity in our communities.
Key achievements from 2024 include:
370 new volunteers registered
504 confirmed placements
7 inclusive volunteer projects delivered
Strong outreach to youth, older adults, people with disabilities, and new communities
Ongoing collaboration with over 200 local organisations
As we look ahead to 2025, the Centre is committed to expanding rural outreach, enhancing governance, and ensuring financial sustainability.
